Let God Lead Your Life

Jesus Christ purchased our victory through HIS LIFE, DEATH, and RESURRECTION!  People still do not realize it to this day that the WAR WAS WON that day when Jesus died (the only true Righteous One for everyone else) to conquer sin and death, ONCE AND FOR ALL!  I would encourage you to look at the events of your lives and not view them as random.  They are all very purposeful in pointing you BACK TO GOD so that HE, Jesus Christ, by the Power of the Holy Spirit to the GLORY OF GOD the Father, would be glorified.  Don’t deny the role of the person of the HOLY SPIRIT in your life.  Some of the toughest things to grasp in life is understanding how we deserve FAVOR in the eyes of the Lord.  The thing is, you don’t have to find favor, because JESUS already found favor for you!  Everything in this life is just an added bonus.  Here is a link to a really good article that explains the precision of God’s plan by likening it to the trajectory of an arrow! I also love it because it talks about the story of our brother in Christ and prophet in the Holy Spirit, Micaiah!  My next post will highlight the stories of Micaiah and Gideon, the two reminders of how to be a warrior and rebel for Jesus Christ in desperate times!

Today’s scriptures come from Hebrews 13 and Malachi 3.

Hebrews 13

Concluding Exhortations

[1] Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. [2] Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. [3] Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.

Malachi 3

The Faithful Remnant

[16] Then those who feared the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the Lord and honored his name.

[17] “On the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty, “they will be my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as a father has compassion and spares his son who serves him. [18] And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.

 My thoughts:

A dear friend of mine in the Faith (John) told me that my life verse is Hebrews 13:2.  He is right.  I have been commanded by God to love other people unconditionally. When you see someone embody the Holy Spirit in ways that fulfill scripture, it really is nothing but miraculous and amazing! When someone tells me I am doing good, sometimes I am in disbelief because sometimes, I do it unknowingly.  I would encourage you to recognize the times in your life where you do something good without even trying, and thank God, because He has allowed the person of the Holy Spirit to flow through your life!

Now, onto Malachi 3:16.  The Book of Remembrance.  Such a cool and amazing thing to ponder (thank you Correy Limerick for showing me that one). We actually can draw from the book of remembrance by the Power of the Holy Spirit.  I have had some concussions in my life and it is so comforting that I WILL NEVER FORGET ANYTHING because I have the Holy Spirit remind me each and every day of WHO I AM in Christ!  I pray that the same happens to you each and every day! The last book of the Old Testament was actually written roughly 400 years before Jesus came!  Malachi obviously is a very important book!  It was written to prepare people for 400 years following the end of His 1st Testament to mankind before He sent His Son Jesus!  Personally, I have been unbelievably intrigued (and frankly more interested) in reading the Old Testament recently!  I try to remain camped in two books of the OT and one book of the NT.  My favorite way to go about reading the Word is always be in Psalms and Proverbs, and then a book from each of the two testaments.

That’s all for now.  I will be working on my next post, “The Story of Two Witnesses” this week and I pray that this post and the one you just read will stick with you, not because of me, but because of WHO JESUS CHRIST IS by the Power of the Holy Spirit IN YOUR LIFE!
