Ephesians 6 | New International Version
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
These words written by the Apostle Paul have been 10 of the most important verses I return to in any given season of my walk with the Lord. These verses show us that it is by the Holy Spirit of the Living God that we have the HOPE of being able withstand all of the attacks of the enemy; and after everything, to still stand in the TRUTH of God’s word. How amazing is that?
When we become 100% sold out in devotion to Jesus Christ, we become warriors & ambassadors for Him on this earth where people are truly lost. Take Paul for example. He started off persecuting the very people he would eventually write to in the various books of the New Testament he authored (Acts 9). After his miraculous conversion, the disciples were still skeptical of his desire to join the way. However, Paul was tasked with delivering the good news to the Gentiles & his letter to the Church is Ephesus is just one example of that mission.
If you read the rest of the book of Acts, you will see how truly amazing Paul’s life was. It wasn’t until the past year or so that I realized that Paul actually made it all the way to Rome without getting killed. This was because he was given assurance by God that Paul would share the gospel there. Thus, everything else that happened in between was not able to phase him, because he knew the Lord had a greater plan. Even though he spent many nights in jail, often writing the very books in the New Testament, God was always there and always showed up to take him to the next part of his journey.
Are you currently living in a situation where you don’t know where you are going to end up next? Are you living in a situation where you know where you want to go but you are discouraged regarding you actually getting there? A lot of us today struggle with reconciling the “why?” behind the “how?” in our lives. It is natural to want to understand things. However, it can sometimes be dangerous because then we start losing our desire to trust in God fully by faith.
That is why the Full Armor of God is so very important in our daily walk. He do not know what the future holds or what our response will be. However, I do know that if we SEEK FIRST Christ and His Kingdom and ask the Lord to equip us with the spiritual armor outlined in Ephesians 6:10-20 (KJV), He is going to take care of us. NO MATTER WHAT the enemy throws our way to try and tear us down, at the end of the day, we are going to STAND.
My prayer for you today is that you would seek to have the FULL ARMOR OF GOD on at all times and that you would TRUST IN JESUS by HIS HOLY SPIRIT to keep you steady throughout the assault by the enemy so that in the end, you will STAND FIRM!
Trust in HIS PROMISES and God will always DELIVER!
